Cult of Euphoria 2022: Return of the Living Kinoites

REGISTER HERE

Cult of Euphoria is pulsing with life after two years of online slumber!

We'll be crawling out of our graves in Helsinki, Finland, on the 4th to 6th of November (Friday to Sunday).

Get ready to stretch your stiff, rotting limbs and make horror short films with us during one electrifying weekend! (Also sci-fi, dark comedies, gore, and the likes are welcome). No previous experience in filmmaking (or living death) is required to join this workshop.

This edition of Cult of Euphoria is done in collaboration with Night Visions festival, described as the biggest and boldest genre film festival in Scandinavia. A special Cult of Euphoria screening is held at the festival, and all the films made in this workshop will be screened there, at their makers' permission. The festival dates are 16.-19.11.2022 and the special Cult of Euphoria screening will be on the 19th.

This is a Kino Kabaret workshop organized by Euphoria Borealis ry.

How Kino Kabaret works:

We meet Friday 4.11. in the evening, everyone introduces themselves and anyone who has an idea for a horrific short film, can introduce their idea to the rest of the group. After that, we divide into working groups - you can participate in as many film projects as your little heart desires! Then we just start making the films. After a weekend of horror (filmmaking) we hold a screening on Sun 6.11. A Kino Kabaret is NOT a competition - we're doing this for love of filmmaking, fun, and brains. And some scares.

During the event, we'll have an online platform, Discord, to keep in touch and look for lost crew members etc.
If you feel uncertain with the Discord platform, don’t worry, we’ll give you the tech support you need.

The participation fee for this event is as follows: 13 euros for members of Euphoria Borealis ry and 16 euros for non-members. The participation fee includes entrance to our screening at Night Visions festival 19.11.

The only limitations in terms of filmmaking are:
7min maximum length
The theme of horror and the likes
No hateful contentIf your film's spoken dialogue is in some other language than English, include English subtitles in your film

In all Euphoria Borealis events, we practice guidelines for safer spaces. Read more here.

See you in this weekend of horrors!
